Brown Bag Programs
Brown Bag and other programs help low-income older adults eat better by providing free or low-cost groceries.
Available in many areas, supplemental grocery programs provide bags or boxes of groceries, including fruit, vegetables, and other nourishing food, to low-income seniors.
Many, but not all, services deliver groceries directly. Supplemental grocery programs may also provide:
- Social opportunities at grocery pick-up centers
- Links to other nutrition services
- Referrals to other needed services
