Continuing Care
If your loved one prefers the idea of moving to one place and living there through future stages of health care, a continuing care community might be a good choice. Typically, older adults initially move into the independent living area of the community. They may live in a single-family home, apartment, or condominium.
As they begin to need help with activities of daily living, they may move into the assisted living area of the same location. Should more care become necessary, the community offers a skilled nursing area.
