Test Strips
To test glucose levels, blood is either dropped onto or drawn into a plastic strip, which is usually then placed into a meter or monitor that interprets the results. Also learn about strips that can be read without a meter.
Several different types of strips are available, including:
- Strips that work with portable meters
- Self-reading strips that don't require a meter or monitor
- Strips that require a low volume of blood, helping to minimize pain
